Sherri Ramirez –

I came to St. Patrick Parish on my return to Canada, first as a parishioner a number of years ago, and for the past two years have been the Coordinator for the De Mazenod Door Outreach.  Being part of community was very much part of my early childhood, whether shoveling snow or cutting grass for the elderly in our community, caring for one’s neighbour. Though not faith-based, it was an instilled responsibility and expectation, which at the time I did not understand, but left indelible rewards in my soul which I treasure to this day.  My experience living in a developing country for a number of years and being immersed in a Catholic Charismatic Lay Community brought these core values to fruition cemented with faith. Service to God and helping my fellow man has become a way of life. I fully believe that we must practice the words that Anthony J. D’Angelo so graciously quoted. “Without a sense of caring, there can be no community.”
